experiments

My art-every-day adventure continues with playing in photoshop:
For some reason I really like this high contrast drama photo.
I am also working on a few line/shape exercises:
I just cut strips from fabric and fused them on 4″x6″ backgrounds. Some are more successful than others, but I can see them eventually coming together in a quilt.
The month and the AEDM challenge have passed the half-way mark and this experience has been liberating. I used to be so concerned with “wasting” my precious free time, that I rarely sat down to just play around. Sticking with doing something creative everyday, especially on workdays when tired and with only half an hour of time, forced me to give up the expectation of a concrete accomplishment. And out the window went the limits. Instead of not enough time, there is time every day to enjoy making stuff, playing with paints, experimenting with ideas! So I want to thank Leah Piken Kolidas for running this wonderful challenge!

Cool photo…it definitely looks dramatic and I just love the colors. Looking forward to seeing what you create with those fabric strips!

Funny, how we are on exactly the same page and had the same thoughts this week. Keep up the play. I love the lines, shapes and colors. There is a really energy to each of them.
